Lipa City now has 75 COVID cases

Lipa City, Batangas – A 19-year-old woman from Barangay Plaridel here, tested positive for the new coronavirus, COVID-19, Mayor Eric Africa announced Wednesday.

This ups the total number of COVID cases to 75 with 10 fatalities and 52 recoveries as of July 15, according to the city health office.

Provincewide, Lipa City so far has the second most number of COVID infections in Batangas next to Batangas City, which has 121.

In a Facebook advisory issued 8 pm, Africa said the patient had fever and colds, which are symptoms of the novel coronavirus disease. No further details were disclosed on the status of the patient.

Earlier, a 26-year-old man from Barangay Sabang, who had cough and sore throat, tested positive for COVID. So did a 32-year-old woman from Barangay Pinagkawitan, who works as a production operator at the  Lima Technology Center.

A Department of Health report said as of July 15, Philippines already has logged 58,850 COVID infections with 20,976 recoveries, while 1,614 patients have succumbed to the disease.
